Crazy Faith Coffee Review.......

I received my delicious treat in the mail last Friday, a bag of Crazy Faith Coffee Co. courtesy of Family Christian. The aroma of this coffee is amazing! I couldn't quit smelling it. I immediately opened the package and brewed some of this awesome coffee. As I opened the package, I found a small foil wrapped package that had a small card in it.

It was a story about a couple who had 5 children and felt like God wanted them to also adopt. They adopted 3 more children and conceived a baby the same year bringing their total to nine. In the midst of all the craziness, they decided to start Crazy Faith Coffee Company.

Crazy Faith Coffee is not your run of the mill coffee. Each beautiful bag of coffee is freshly roasted, organic and fair trade and is also available in decaf. This coffee has become my new favorite. The adoption story of John and Josee Waller is so amazing and inspiring.

If you are wanting to try a new coffee or have a special friend that loves coffee, this is the one to try or give as a gift. You will not be disappointed.

trim healthy mama life.....

Hello again. I am not very good at keeping up with this blog. I am trying really hard at this but it seems my blog gets put on the back burner a lot!

A week ago yesterday I started my Trim Healthy Mama journey. I have had the books for a very long time. I have read through all of them and even cooked a good many foods the THM way. I have never been fully committed to this way of life until last Monday when I got some lab results back. Let's just say it's time for a change! So, I started last Monday and haven't looked back. I am really enjoying eating healthy! No sugar! What! It has been over a week that I haven't had any sugar. That's really big for me. I have a hard time cooking really healthy with 7 other people living here also but I knew when I got the results last Monday it was time to change my way of life. I have been using Plexus also for over a year and love it but I never was really consistent with it either. I knew it was fabulous and  I knew when I took it on a daily basis I felt so much better. Well, as of now, Plexus and THM is my way of life. No turning back!

I am trying so many new recipes in my THM books here lately that I thought I would share them with you. They are wonderful. It feels so great to know I am eating the way I should to lose weight and get healthy. I am going to try to post at least two recipes a week.

Here are two that I have tried recently and totally liked!

Minute Ramen Soup                 p. 125 in the cookbook

Orange Creamsicle Shake              p. 409 in the cookbook

I am loving this new norm and look forward to getting results that I know I will eventually see and feel!

Answers Bible Curriculum for Kids

Well, it's that time of the year when everyone is putting out their school supplies and all us homeschool Mom and Dad's are deciding which curriculum we want to order for this upcoming school year! It's so exciting to decide which curriculum we are gonna use in our home each and every year!

Today I want to share with you an amazing company called Masterbooks. They have the most amazing curriculum. I had the pleasure of reviewing Answers for Kids Bible Curriculum and all I can say is WOW!! It's fabulous!!!

I am using this with my 7 and 9 year olds this year for bible. It is such an engaging curriculum and very easy for my bugs to understand. The lesson plans are very easy to use and provide very detailed explanations of each lesson along with scripture, memory verses, visuals and materials to use, Lesson Truths and preparation for your lessons.

It came with a Teacher Resource CD-ROM and also a song cd.

We are not even close to finishing this, so when we are completely through with this wonderful bible curriculum, I will be back for a full review on this including lots of pictures of my bugs learning and having fun with this!!!

I encourage you to go check out Masterbooks. I highly recommend them when deciding on which curriculum you want to use in your homeschool. We love MASTERBOOKS!!!!!

Talk to you later!!!

Fig Season

It's fig season around here so I decided to find a really good fig muffin recipe for our breakfast the other morning. They were delicious! Recipe at the bottom!

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar, I used Sucanat
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 cups chopped dried figs, I used my fresh figs cooked down in an extra light syrup

1/4 cup sugar (I used Sucanat)
1/4 cup quick oats
1 tablespoon butter

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray 12-cup muffin tin with baking spray and set aside. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, oil, vanilla and egg until combined. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture, folding to combine. Fold in figs. Divide batter evenly among prepared muffin tins. Prepare topping, sprinkle over batter. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.

Curriculum Review: History Revealed: True Tales Set- Volume 1-3

History Revealed: True Tales Set - Volume 1-3

History Revealed: True Tales Set is a multi-cd set that teaches the truth about history from the creation point of view. It was written by Diana Waring, a "history evangelist" that has been teaching history and education since 1990.

This multi-cd set spans the time from the Genesis account of creation through the ancient cultures and even reveals recent discoveries on these amazing times. These cd's are told in a storyteller's enthusiastic manner and is very entertaining to listen to.

This set was originally developed for use with the History Revealed curriculum. We haven't used it in that way as we don't own the History revealed homeschool curriculum.

There are three volumes in this set.

Volume 1: Ancient Civilizations & The Bible contains captivating events and biographies from Creation to Christ

Volume 2: Romans, Reformers, Revolutionaries contain captivating events and biographies from Resurrection to Revolution.

Volume 3: World Empires, World Missions, World Wars contain captivating events and biographies from Napoleon to Korea.

We used these CD's for road-schooling. When we had errands to run, groceries to buy and eye appointments to go to, we would pop a cd into our cd player in our van and listen to these as long as we were riding! I really enjoyed them and really liked the fact that we could still be learning away from home.

I highly recommend this audio series!!! If this is something that interests you and would like to try it in your homeschool, CLICK HERE

I received this History Revealed: True Tales Set by Diana Waring from Masterbooks in exchange for my honest review.
