About the Movie:
Matthew Stevenson is a troubled kid from a broken home. When he vandalizes the local church to get back at his parents, Matthew has to repair the damage to the church to avoid criminal charges. While working at the church, he meets Ernest (John Ratzenberger), an accomplished wood carver who created the intricate woodwork decoration that Matthew destroyed. Ernest has become something of a hermit, but reluctantly comes out of reclusion to help repair the church. Now Ernest and Matthew must work together to preserve the church's beautiful antiquity, and alone the way, they also manage to restore their faith in God and in life.

My Thoughts:
We watched this movie for our family movie night. This movie is rated PG because of serious issues like divorce and rebellion. It is not a light-hearted movie. It also covers issues like forgiveness and reconciliation. We enjoyed this movie although the topic of divorce and all the fighting and arguing that goes along with divorce may be a little much for younger children. I did have my 4 year old and 2 year old watching and it seemed to me that they really didn't understand what was happening as far as the divorce issue. All in all, we did enjoy the movie. It has a happy ending and also reminds us to have faith in God and everything in our lives will fall into place. You can visit this link to see the trailer.
